Dear MA, what a clever and intelligent take on how to move on after the battle. The various people stepping in to help, the various plans to make things better for students, and most of all, the insights in what they might need, turn this into a fascinating read.

Thank you for sharing both story and insights. It's the perfect tale for New Year's Day in a year in which we all wish to move on. Let's hope we'll be as good at it as the Hogwarts Staff.

LJ didn't like the length of my comment, so here's part 2:

Minerva buried her face in her hands making the kind of noise only a teacher can produce, an earthy sigh ripped from her very soul. It was the first evening of the Christmas holidays Right from the first line, I can tell we’re on to a winner. (I teach teachers for a living, I’ve so heard that sound. And made it.)

Most importantly the newest room in the castle was fully kitted out with squishy armchairs and soft floor cushions, three fireplaces and multiple snack cupboards, a library of games and books and craft materials. This had been the idea of the aforementioned Boy Who Lived, a neutral space outside the common rooms where students could spend their free time without being bound by house prejudices. The lad has some very good notions. And the room sounds delightful.

Hogwarts' resident transfiguration master performed what some would call 'foolish wand waving', Exceedingly useful way of gathering input, though. Love the way she remembers Snape here - that’s just how it ( ... )

LJ is highly annoying this morning. Comment 3.

I didn’t know that when I woke as a ghost, and so I summoned Jemmy who had been helping us in the Room of Requirement and she came and said hi and helped me find people! Yes! Sometimes, all it takes to do a thing is not knowing it’s considered impossible. If anyone would find that out, it’s bouncy Mr. Creevey.

On the first day of planning, Monday 21st December, Great echo of The Twelve Days of Christmas here, I can’t help humming the tune while reading.

The staff were scribbling and sticking with plenty of input from the former students who knew the hiding places a little too well. They would, too! And the post-it notion is brilliant. I wonder what Filius will come up with.

with a surprisingly cool-headed Lavender Brown leading the argument. In the end it was decided that self-esteem was an important topic to be discussed amongst the teenagers, particularly as most of them had spent time trying to not be noticed by the curse-happy Carrows and had trouble being seen again. That is ( ... )

Thank you so much for such a well considered response, TRS, it was a real privilege to craft something for you! I do hope that this satisfied your list of plot bunnies, I tried to add a flavour of things you mentioned amidst the idea that trampled all over my brain. This fest has been an absolute joy from start to finish, so thank you for being such a kind and wise mod!!

Such a delight, a glimpse into a healthier and happier future for Hogwarts and her inhabitants, one hopes! For all his intelligence and foresight, Dumbledore really didn’t do much to modernise the school, or make life easier for non-pure-blood students. Good for Minerva to take on the task! And to involve everyone in its planning and execution. Thank you MA, a great story!

I often find that it is the most academically intelligent people who lack the vision of day to day survival, having worked with far too many to count! I'm so glad you enjoyed the idea of an all round approach, of course Minerva would be the one up to the task!

Interesting and creative! Love the concept of "ideas sticking where they were needed" but I tremble at the thought of Fred Weasley and Peeves teaming up lol

Oh Fred and Peeves is a match steeped in chaos of the highest form, I pity the house elf assigned to clean that room...
Glad you liked it!

What a fitting fic for New Year's! It's time the students got, first of all, that neutral place where to stay together regardless of their Houses. And the magic achieved by the wand waving at the beginning of the meeting was an impressive start for shared efforts to take better care of the students.

Organisational magic is something I always wanted more of in the books, so of course it made it's way into this little piece! I'm so happy you liked the neutral space, having seen the introduction to the party I feel like several of the nooks pictured in the Grand Opening were lifted straight from my vision of the shared space, a lovely gift.

It is refreshing to see the very real problems addressed in such a positive and constructive way. Using the ghosts is inspired, and hopefully the living and the formerly live can helps each other to move ahead.

Kudos!

Thank you so much! The ghosts get far too little mention for my liking, so I just ran with it...
