One seriously wonders whether the whole situation would have become so bad if some of these measures had been taken some 50 years earlier.

Quite a list of issues to address and a decent handle on making a good start.

Thank you for a thoughtful morning's read MA.

Oooof that's a thought and a half....

You're very welcome, it is not a new idea nor even a very original idea I felt but something that is so often overlooked. When we forget that students are in fact human, just like adults, too much gets forgotten or not even considered. And I agree, it is only the start, I might have to revisit in the future to see how Minerva is getting on!

Thank you so much! It's amazing what can happen when people work together and listen to each other as equals, isn't it?!

I love the idea of the Wizarding World finally taking a sensible approach to dealing with life, particularly life after a terrible battle. Trauma needs to be worked through and canonically the Wizarding World is not set up for that kind of thing at all. The new classes and therapy and the clever mood ribbons will do these survivors a world of good. I really enjoyed this story! Thanks MA!

I'm so happy you enjoyed it, I had a lot of fun thinking of creative solutions! I love the idea of mood rings, I had so many as a child but they never seemed to really work so of course Mme Malkin would come up with a superior notion. Totally agree on the trauma front!

Oh, yes, it's always grated on me that there was nothing about how damaged everyone in this series would be! Especially the ones who went through the first war, then had to go through the second as well. I love the idea of the "under 19's" room, with the adults being banned. A space where they can just be children makes so much sense!
Very well done, MA! :)

Thank you so much! Me too, hence the story!! The child-only space is a fun one, so chaotic and I love imagining it......

Here it is. The first story this year to make me cry.

Thank you for writing this. There's so much to say about surviving horrible times, and I'm so glad you've said some of it here, via this wonderful story.

The descriptions of the students' trauma is so heartbreaking! Thank you for giving them a voice, and, through them, a voice to all the real traumatized people surviving the best they can in these troubled times.

Harry had thrown his full clout behind Hogwarts' new headmistress, putting the fact that he had saved the wizarding world as they knew it to devastating effect in his lobbying for gold, wand power and resources to restore the UK's only place of magical learning.

Good boy.

a neutral space outside the common rooms where students could spend their free time without being bound by house prejudices

Such a good idea.

Pomona handed what looked to be the last full tankard of gently steaming liquid to her old friend

Bless her.

This castle has always been a home to those who needed it, a refuge for those who craved it, and ( ... )

Thank you for such a gorgeous review! I would say I'm sorry for making you cry, but I'm just happy that I put my thoughts down on paper well enough for it to touch you so deeply. I think we would all be happier sending children away if we knew their whole being was being cared for, not just their academic health. I also love sentient Hogwarts stories, the idea that so much magic has been performed there that the building has just absorbed it. It has echoes for me of the really great and ancient cathedrals or monasteries where the millions of prayers make the air thick...
