How very modern and enlightened this view of hogwarts future is!

Minerva is a thoroughly modern woman! Just because some of the fashion is old, doesn't mean the ideals have to be...

I kept finding myself nodding my head in agreement with all the ideas being knocked around, all the practical life skill things planned to teach the kids, and most importantly, all the measures aimed at better emotional health and healing for both students and staff. I can't help but think this may have been cathartic for you to write, as you created a structure for a more holistic learning and living situation ( ... )

You're right, it was very cathartic!! So glad you liked the community feel, it felt right to be that way after such trauma, and to inject a little hope into the situation.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this, I feel like I am of the same mould as your daughter having grown up with the characters! I totally agree about Colin, I think there are so many characters who we simply don't hear enough about as we are viewing the wizarding world through Harry's eyes, precisely why I love fanfiction so much.

It's a personal frustration of mine that I just don't think my school prepared me for life as an adult, so anything I can do to prepare our beloved characters better is always a good thing for me. The friendships of adults is something else we miss from Harry's POV, I always thought (and perhaps your daughter would agree!!) that the humans that give so much of their lives to teaching little toerags would be more generous to each other than their students realise.

Thanks for such a thoughtful and lovely review!

Ooo lovely! I love the ghosts, particularly Colin! And I could have done without that mental image of Flitwick thank you very much, very grateful to the ever observant Minerva! I wonder how it's taken by the rest of the school? Much to ponder...

Also, thanks for the earworm, as TRS said the 12 days of Christmas now reside in my brain!!

I enjoy stories that look at the aftermath of the wizarding war; you know that recovery would have been a lot more difficult and complicated than canon suggests. Your version is very clever and thoughtful, MA; I really like the ways that you've improved the magical world by adapting Muggle concepts and technologies. (And I'm so glad you point out the limitations of using only Quidditch as a source of physical exercise!) As for the participation of the ghosts and elves -- what a great idea!

Ha! Reminds me of the Dowager Countess of Grantham and her swivel chair -- "Another modern brain wave?"

I totally adore the magical transcription/categorization methods Minerva enjoyed in her staff meeting. As a teacher who has spent endless hours sorting out lists on blackboards, I could definitely have used this!

I'm so glad you liked this, after I'd contacted you for a little advice everything just fell into place, so thank you!!

Oh 100% Lady Grantham vibes, scheming and fabulous.

I always thought there had to be a plausible reason for Dumbledore to seem like he knew everything and could be in the exact right place at the right time, I think this is just one of many explanations possible. We have, after all, given children sticks that have the power to cause immense mischief, I should hope they have good safeguards in place!! But then again, we muggles are fully trackable so why should wizards be safe?!
