I adore this! I think it gives such a different look at the house of Hufflepuff and what it really means to belong there. I've never read anything where Tonks wasn't happy with her sort so I found the flashbacks really interesting too.

I loved the fact that Sprout reminded Tonks that just because she was a Hufflepuff did not mean that she was a one-dimensional character - that she was also allowed to be resourceful, cunning, brave and intelligent; that she expected her to be.

I also appreciate you letting us into her head. In canon, it always bothered me that she left a newborn to participate in the battle. At least your Tonks provided a plausible reason for doing so. Nicely done.
