It's so nice to see Cor develop into an interesting character! I adore his friendship with Katie, and the following line made me smile:

Later on he wonders what Katie might have said when Hermione asks him to go with her to Slughorn's Christmas party, but she's been in the infirmary since October and when he pops by after dinner to check, Leanne is by her side, as she's been since, and he doesn't think he should be interrupting them.

So, not a complete arse, then. ;)

I really enjoyed seeing Corkscrew grow up, and his take on life events from canon. Can't decide which was the best line, but "dillying and dallying" was charming.

Corkscrew! Ha! Now we know what autocorrect does with "Cormac"!

LMAO Corkscrew. Mine autocorrects it to Cognac. IN RETROSPECT, both kind of fit. ;) And thanks for the comment!

Oh wow, I positively adore this Cormac! You've done a fabulous job of making him sympathetic while still keeping him in character. To see his affection and good humour with Katie and Leanne, and his growing bond with the group of Quidditch friends from Hogwarts, to see his loyalties and the priorities he made with regard to the war, it made the brash qualities that remained positively endearing. He is very Gryffindor here for better or worse, and I really love that.

I love how you've told this story, with Cormac's forthright narrative voice and the touches of sly humour and genuinely touching moments. It was so lovely how he tried to take care of Cho after the battle, and I was very glad that she didn't deck him at the end! :)

This is a brilliant look at some of the lesser-known Gryffindors, and a perfectly reasonable/realistic way to see Cormac grow up. Well done!
