Mele turned three today!  He's still crazy, although we do notice that he seems to be more affected by the heat than in previous summers.  He did not get a cake, although we did try to do some dog things and he got some extra treats.

    The day after the wedding started with a rather long drive up to Bar Harbor.  We had decided to go to Nova Scotia, and unfortunately the CAT ferry only leaves from Portland three days a week (the wrong days).  The drive was relatively picturesque, and the hotel itself was immediately next door to the ferry, making it very convenient.  We ( Read more... )

    Dog BONES is celebrating its fifth birthday in September, and they are looking for donations for a silent auction.  If you have any items or services that you would be willing to donate, please let me know.  The organization is for therapy dogs, and provides dogs to a variety of programs.  They are one of the few that allow dogs under two years ( Read more... )

    About the graduation...No, my brother is not that much younger than I am (almost exactly two years younger, in fact).  It just took him fourteen years to finally get his bachelor's degree; he was on the slow path.  University of Hawaii decided to hold its commencement ceremony at 9 am, which was not fun.  Parking was free, but they recommended ( Read more... )

    Mele does not like baths.  He has a tendency to run downstairs and get in his crate if he even THINKS that you're thinking about giving him a bath.  (I am not sure how a dog that loves swimming can be convinced that entering a bathtub is fatal.)  However, he was long overdue this evening and was off-white in all of the white spots.  I started ( Read more... )
