5. Background:The half-demon son of the great demon Sparda and the human Eva, Dante and his twin brother Vergil are raised by their parents until their father's death. Eva raises the boys on her own, until the family is attacked by demons and she's killed. This is what commits Dante to hunting down demons. Dante, Vergil, and Lady come to find that Arkham had been manipulating the three of them in order to open up the gateway to the demon world. The brothers had the amulets that their parents had used to seal the tower, and Lady had the blood of the woman who had helped them. Once he managed to get the three of them in the right chamber in the tower, he fights and defeats them all. But, once he's gone into the demon world, Dante and Vergil follow him and throw him back into the human world after kicking his ass for awhile. With the portal quickly closing, Dante and Vergil part ways; Vergil decides to stay in the demon world and follow in their fathers' footsteps, and Dante goes back to the human world.
After the events in the tower, Lady and Dante form a strange sort of friendship. They help each other out on occasion, and she even helps him name his shop "Devil May Cry".

Dante takes after his father, and is tall and muscular, with electric blue eyes and silver hair. He tends to wear red leather trench coats, really worn-in brown leather pants, and black leather boots. His hair tends to be in a lazy mess, since he's not the twin that ever does anything with it. The only time his appearance ever changes is when he uses his Devil Trigger. Then his clothes turn into something more like red and black scales, and his head is transformed into what almost looks like a metallic full-face helmet with horns.
9. Abilities:Being half-demon, Dante is blessed (or cursed) with ridiculously fast healing, as well as super strength and speed. When his demonic powers are released, he's able to use something called a Devil Trigger. The Devil Trigger increases his strength and speed, and can give him the ability to fly if he activates it while using certain weapons. Other than that, he's skilled with pretty much any kind of weapon he can get his hands on

Rebellion sliced effortlessly through the three demons attempting to corner him. With a loud laugh, he leaped onto one of the now prone bodies and rode it down the street much like a skateboard. Switching Rebellion for his trusty guns Ebony and Ivory, he threw himself into a spin, releasing a rain of death and destruction on the larger part of the mob of demons trying to tear him apart. As most of them disintegrated into dust, he kicked off from the body, sending it bowling into another demon, the both of them exploding on impact. Another momentary pause to switch back to Rebellion, and he was running into the fray, deftly dodging or blocking most of the blows. It felt good to be back to hunting demons. He had spent far too long sitting around his shop after his last job. Being out in the world, saving people and destroying filth was what he lived for. With a triumphant cheer, he stabbed Rebellion into the last demon's chest, yanking it up to slice the rest of it's torso in half
