Homework is evil

The idea of homework is that some things aren't easy enough to remember that you can just get them from two or three or five classes a week, you need to see it more often for it really to sink in. Languages have this especially. So homework makes you think of it more times per day, as a reminder.

That said, some homework doesn't do this. That homework sucks.
