This seems to me to be nothing more than than halfwits placed in a position of supposed authority trying to show the world how powerful they are. This is evident everyday in every part of life sadly. This teacher took it upon herself to try and enlighten some students and it irritated a board member who feels as if the whole world should revolve aroun them and all decisions should be made through them. I dont feel this has anything to do with the book or its contents as much as it does with a spiteful person holding a position of power.

We live in a completely "me-first" world, where all compassion and cares for others is only important if it benefits the person being the compassionate one. The selfishness that has become so prevalent lately is astounding.
