Though I am not a vidder, I was trying to think of videos that I would put on a list and both butterfly Caught and Push It were some of the first videos that came to mind. LOVE THEM BOTH!
Bedtime Story is amazing. Damn, the 90's videos directors were so good. Do you remember "The Perfect Drug" by NIN, or "Tonight, Tonight" by Smashing Pumpkins? And of course: Spark. That 4 minutes terror movie. I remember how much I waited for this video to come and how amazing it was.
Man there really was some sort of evolution of music videos in the 90's. They were all so spectacular!
And YES, I love "Tonight, Tonight." Actually, you made me realize that I forgot to add "Ava Adore" as an influential vid so I've rectified that above. :)
And of course: Spark. That 4 minutes terror movie. I remember how much I waited for this video to come and how amazing it was. OMG! *hand to heart* It was truly monumental! At the end, when that drop of blood slides down her palm to her fingertip...it breaks my heart!

I agree! Video directors took risks, and had a lot of imagination. Mark Romanek was my favorite. Also, Spike Jones. And Michel Gondry.
The blood! What always makes me nervous about that video is the man. And the twins in the car... and Tori underwater. Ok, the WHOLE video makes me nervous XD
OOH. Y'know I hadn't seen any of these til Bedtime Story, and um, that's still the only one I've seen :P But looking forward to watching these in my lunch break or this evening or something. Especially the Bjork one, omg her ♥
Also, you! ♥
Ps. Someone still owes me a writing sample so I can steal their identity compare >.>
Hahaha! Well you've got some goodies ahead of you. Bjork is truly an artist and she has a bunch of amazing music videos, so you should check them out when you have a chance. I have them on DVD and love them dearly. Same with The Smashing Pumpkins and Tori. (Btw, I added a Smashing Pumpkins video up there in an ETA of shame. :P Can't believe I forgot about it.)
Oh! I can't believe you still remembered about that writing sample! You clearly wanna be me see it. So I shall provide tomorrow then!
I once spent 20 hours in the edit bay scratching out [info]ohvienna's face from every frame of this 8mm short I shot for class using a MacGyver style paperclip thing I rigged up.
I channeled Nicole Kidman in Malice for this, I just thought everyone should know.
And I was directing you to be Spike in the S5 premiere of Angel! But you certainly sold it with Malice! :D Ah memories. I wish I could dig this thing up and put it online. :D
