When Prop 8 passed last year I thought that if that question were on the ballot this year or next year instead, it wouldn't have passed. I did not expect this domino effect to precede the conditions wherein a revote would overturn the measure. Of course, these states legalizing gay marriage might not have done so if Prop 8 wasn't on the ballot last year (I don't think that the result of that vote would have mattered, just the fact that the issue was there helped put it on the top of the pile of these other state legislatures and supreme courts).

Yeah, in some weird way I think Prop. 8 has helped. It reminds me of this article that I read, that said basically in the end all the anti-gay marriage actually helps people to get more use to the idea of gay marriage. The more you bring it up (no matter what side) the more people can get used to it. Apparently, just back in the 90's the concept of gay marriage made people's brains explode.
