Our sweet Annabelle journeyed into the great beyond yesterday. Just a week ago, on February 2nd, we celebrated her birthday. Twelve wonderful years! She was happy and healthy right up until the last few days, when her back legs gradually lost all their strength. My beautiful cousin Jessica got married on October 1st in Massachusetts, so Andrew and I decided to make a little trip out of the wedding weekend and explore New England for our next monthly vacation. After 5 weeks apart, Andrew and I were thrilled for the opportunity to meet up in Washington, DC, while I attended a conference. We're in the midst of the Perseids here in mid-August. If you're in the Northern Hemisphere, look up at night and you'll probably see at least one meteor! I went out around 1am last night to try to get some photos of the meteors. While I saw dozens of them, I couldn't capture any in the camera. Maybe I'll try again tonight! On my last day off for this field season, I decided to return to Yellowstone to get another dose of that geothermal awesomeness and maybe (fingers crossed) see some wolves.
