Please, my Lord, I implore you to have mercy of these libertine children in the City of Lights. These poor little, lost sheep would find the way back to the herd with Your guidance. Grant them salvation for their sinful souls I beg you!

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen.[Making the sign of the cross, the kneeling young Sister ( Read more... )

Pardonnez-moi, mademoiselle, but why do we need salvation?

No you, petite. The Lord blesses the innocence of children.

So I'm blessed, even though I work at Tambour Amoureax?

What about my sisters?

It is quite bold of you to assume our souls need salvation. Is that not for your Lord to decide?

[And she would agree in normal circumstances aka not being cursed with a religious prude Victorian mentality that makes sex inherently evil.]

It isn't bold to be compassionate at the sight of the amount of lost sheep who are drowning into the sea of vice at the shadow of the virtue of the pious. I see souls in danger of eternal damnation and as a God-fearful woman I pray for them.

Not all of us at sea are lost or drowning.

But how can you say that so brazenly? The vice itself is a damnation of your immortal soul.

I must say that I see nothing laughable in this affair.

No of course you wouldn't.

However, I find so very much about it laughable.

I see. I'm afraid I don't share your sense of humor.

The buildings are dyed shades of rose and gold, the setting sun obscured by the black lines of towers and domes rising skyward. He is just setting out for the evening, aimless but alert, when he passes the young nun.

Never one to disrespect authority (at least in public,) he gives her a slight bow as he passes, and a faint smile.

Lilith kept her head down in public, returning the greeting with a quiet bow of her head and without making eye contact. Giving the man a silent blessing. It is only proper for a good woman in that era.

He almost lets her go without further incident; after all he is only just beginning his evening, and a nun is not an ideal companion for any of the activities he's been considering.

But something in her half-hidden face has caught his eye, and he's barely three steps beyond her when he pauses and turns. "Sister... have you a moment?"

She has been awkwardly disciplined to comply with the English protocol, although in Paris she has brazenly disregarded the don't speak of religion rule, not after what she witnessed. France seems so different from England and both countries too distant to the realities of Asia and Africa she has traveled to.

Lilith turns immediately upon being addressed, meeting the man with a smile. "Of course I do." The servants of the Lord must have time for everyone at any time.

The sin in every populated corner of the avenues. This is what I speak about! Such sights at broad daylight.

And servants of the Lord do what they have to. Try to guide the lost sheep back to the right path.
