Okay you know what it's been a loooong while since I did one of these.

Good old traditional FIRST IMPRESSIONS/RELATIONSHIP MEME! Comment with two of our characters who have met and I will ramble on at length about my character's feelings for yours, possibly provide MS Paint visual aids, etc. I play Albert Silverberg, Seth Nightlord, Honlon ( ( Read more... )

Yuri was the other person from AUDie Mithos ended up liking! He didn't top Mithos like Flynn did, but he fits another category of people Mithos is okay with--bastions of sanity. In situations where NEARLY EVERYONE ELSE IS ACTING INSANE Mithos will tolerate anyone who isn’t! It bypasses his magical race issues for a while. Obviously they got less of a connection because they didn’t get quite as much meaningful interaction-Team A being separated from the traumallama, etc.-but Mithos still developed an interest in him and got along with him reasonably well!

Yuri managed to never give him a negative impression, either: he was smart and sensible, and even though he was human, he commiserated with Mithos on...a comfortably equal level, I guess? He didn’t make Mithos feel judged or lectured or pressured, which is rare. He also appeals to Mithos’s inner troll, in turn: Mithos loves to bait people, and when Yuri reacted by just snarking right back he was actually, honestly amused. He had a ‘pff, touché’ moment. IT WAS PRETTY RAD ( ... )

There has been a shift in the Mithos-Apollo dynamic, actually! Mithos started out hating Apollo's guts and--not scared of him precisely, but scared of his abilities because he showed no qualms in going after Genis. Apollo is also important in the Mithos-Ganymede dynamic in that Mithos sort of...has to use his dislike of Apollo as an excuseto justify his liking of Ganymede. IT IS WEIRD; I put something about it down in my gigantor essay but I cannot fully figure it out either ( ... )

Artemis's take on Apollo is weird, because her feelings for Apollo himself are pretty set and not really that difficult to define or explain! But all the baggage surrounding Apollo and his circumstances and how different he is from her is REALLY COMPLICATED.

For the latter, a lot of it is just--the weirdness of the world he describes to her. She gets a weird tilty vertigo feeling every time she’s reminded that somewhere some version of her is dead; every time she turns it over in her head she kind of looks around her to make sure that the moon is still in the sky and the wild animals aren’t crawling out of the forest. It’s all just very bizarre to her, especially because that dead Artemis isn’t present in camp at all-as long as she never sees that, Artemis can maintain some measure of distance and unreality in her head. It’s her way of protecting herself ( ... )

OH GOSH THE WOLVES. ARTEMIS LOVES THE WOLVES SO MUCH. See, her canon day job is a professional dog-walker! She is good with dogs and getting dogs to work with her, but at the same time she is always super disappointed with them! The reason she works with them is because she misses her original pack of hunting hounds; the dogs Artemis owned and loved were feral and wild and fierce, much closer to wild wolves than dogs. But because the Greek gods' powers faded and their range of influence shrank and there was no way to support actual living creatures on their property anymore, she was forced to kill her pets. They are her Big Sad Thing in the book, those dogs; she looks for echoes of them in every canine she meets but in canon she only encounters domestic ones who are tame and slow and dumb in comparison ( ... )
