Do your parents have an "I've fallen and I can't get up" sort of thingy? My mother has that, and actually used it because, well, she had fallen and couldn't get up. The police arrived and helped her to her feet, and that was that. Speaking as the daughter who lives 120 miles away, I was greatly relieved to learn it works just as advertised.
