You know, she doesn't sound depressed. She sounds angry. This sort of fits in with DID; it can show up when a person subconciously starts to create a stronger, more powerful personality. So, angry.

DID is really very serious, and the treatments for it are varied. It sounds like whatever help she's getting isn't very good, and the first thing she needs is a professional that she trusts, or at least doesn't hate.

OCD can be serious, but not as often. It depends on her compulsions, really. My compulsions I've managed to work through, so they no longer inhibit my living a normal life. When I was little, they definately did.

I don't think she's suicidal. Self-mutilation... maybe. Watch to see if she consistently wears long-sleeves, has band-aids, or keeps her hands and/or legs hidden.

Hope that helps some.

As sad as it is when kids do things of that rash nature, I think you place a bit too much responsibility on the schools. What worries me more, is that parents seem to avoid blame, and in turn don't get the help for their kids that they need. Or they just don't care. They are the kid's fucking guardians, so they should be doing something about it. If the school sees this, in some cases they might be justified in contacting social services.

For the most part, however, schools should be there to teach the kids, not parent them. They have people already designated for that.

It's the school's business, because the kids are killing themselves -at school-, and most from the -same- school. Skylar, then the jock, now this senior; I know there was at least one more, but I can't remember.

The most common link between them is the school. I'm not saying the schools need to be parents; I'm saying the schools need to make sure that they aren't stressing kids to the point of suicide.

Alright, yes, then it's the school's business. They should do something. But they can really only do it while the kids are on campus. And perhaps it does mean that they are doing something wrong. Hell, I think the entire system is doing something wrong. Very tricky issue, this is.

It's quite common to have copycat suicides or 'inspired' ones after a kid commits suicide, too. I thought it was common practice to have counsellors swarm in and the like. I'm astonished the school's ignoring three suicides.

there was a kid from G-prep in the beginning of the year, Skyler in december, another kid from Lakeside (Brett maybe) in Jan, a kid from Lakeside Junior High (in Feb), then this kid from Shadle (his name might have been Skyler too, wierd coincidence).

They weren't all from the same school.

That's still 3 Lakesides. Enough that it needs to be looked into.

There are a number of different school boards and districts in Spokane. Shadle belongs to the District 81, and I beleive there is a separate lakeside district. District 81 is most of Spokane including, Ferris, LC, Shadle, Rogers, NC, Havermale, Chase Middle School, Sacajawea Middle School, and lots of elementary schools (I may have missed a few). There are also the Valley districts (Central, West, East)...and others. I put a list together back when I was doing publicity for L5Y, but I can't find it right now.

Just thought you might want the info if you are indeed sending that.
