Ah! A lovely new chapter, and so much suspense!

I love your characterization of Anamaria.

Thank you so much! That was quick. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter even though it ended in exactly the same spot as the previous one.

Anamaria has been such fun to write in this story. It's good to know you like where I've taken the character.

I am so very glad you're continuing this story - I don't think I've said so yet! This chapter was superb; particularly the interaction between Sparrow and Walton. And Ana.

Thank you so much for continuing to comment on this story. I'm glad I'm continuing it too. I want to know what happens!

These characters set up camp in my head and start chattering, and I take dictation--it's good to know you're enjoying their interaction.

' ...like the voice of God in a very bad mood...'

I do love your way with a phrase.

'Gibbs reflected grumpily that Jack was never where you wanted him-he was either too far away or too close.'

Oh yes.

'It was the height of irony for a captain in the king's Royal Navy to pray for a pirate ship to escape a British war ship, but Alexander Walton did.'

In his own way, Captain Walton is as unusual as Jack Sparrow. Of course I hope he makes it through the upcoming conflict.

Great job on another wonderful chapter!

Thank you for your comments. I do wrestle with the phrasing, so I appreciate knowing what works for readers.

I`m glad you`re liking my OC Navy captain. For a man who was invented because the Defender needed a captain, he`s surprised me by becoming central to the plot and even to the theme of this story. Back when he first took the Defender Jack said he was going to educate Walton, and it is to Walton`s credit that he can learn.

Have always meant to comment-so here I am finally. This is a terrific story!
Love all your nautical phrases- and even though I am a dyed in the wool Sparrabeth fan, I think the action between Jack and Ana is great. Any chance of them getting a little lovin'? They both deserve it. I am hoping against hope that our Jip finds his way back to Jack and the Pearl!...Nan.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I'm glad you're enjoying this story even with its more unusual pairings. As for Jack and Ana getting together, alas, this is an action/adventure story which, in spite of its 27 chapters so far, has only covered about seven days--far too little time for two people as wary and suspicious as Jack and Anamaria to get more than that first kiss. Poor things. It's always good to know people are rooting for my little OC Jip. Thank you again for your kind words.

Third chapter in a month. I died and the Heaven exists, the only possible explanation.

Poor Commodore will get a heart attack. To spoil such a fine officer! Terrible. Tsk, tsk, Port Royal's court will run out of paper, when it comes again to write down Jack's crimes.

she watched Jack as he slept
A few chapters ago, I've been thinking 'how long yet... he must drop, at last'. And I secretly hoped for exactly this situation.

Jack hadn’t two innocent thoughts to rub together.
Anamaria at full blast and close range was enough to make a man deaf and glad of it.
*g*

The first mate could manage a stalk, even on crutches, Gibbs noted.
*G!* And the delicious image of the following scene which it brought to mind! ;D

Yes, three chapters have made it through the gate. Which is about as many as I've written in the last three years or more. I don't know what got into me. Enjoy heaven while it lasts, but you know resurrection is commonplace in the PotC universe.

Alas, poor Norrington. He should know better than to let Jack have uninterrupted time with anyone he wants uncharmed. Will Turner, Elizabeth Swan, and now Alexander Walton. I wonder what the official name of Jack's crime would be?

It's rather funny. I decided it was time for some more fun writing Jack and Anamaria together, so I sent him to visit her, and he fell asleep all on his own. I didn't know you could get fictional characters so tired they'd do that without your permission. I'm glad if fulfilled a wish.

Thank you for such a lovely comment and for letting me know what gave you joy in this chapter :D Hearing from readers like you always gives me joy.

The crime? Alienation of alligance? Recruiting to true? Jack's going to do exactly that...maybe it's pheromones or some sort of chemical reaction combo of salt water, vitamin D from the sun and Jack's own superheating carbon based incubator...Jack's a very specialized 'virus' just gets in and re-routes your very own cells. Or not...

Leading decent craftsmen, fiancées and subordinates astray. And looking infuriatingly miserable and harmless when at the point of a sword.

*wipes laugh tears* I have to try this someday, too.
