Mechant of Venice fic

...Yeah, I knew this was going to happen when I started taking Shakespeare. I just didn't think I'd get and actual assignment to do it. ^^

The assignment was this:

"The play ends with 3 happy couples: Portia & Bassanio; Nerissa & Gratiano; Jessica & Lorenzo. Write a happily ever after (or not so happily ever after) tale as their lives unfold over

That's fantastic. Wow. It's sad...but I really, really like it. And I love that it's a circular thing and all connects...

Yeah, that class is pretty much awesome, except when the teacher assigns us three papers all due on the same day.

Well, one of them was this assignment. ^^ There were a couple of other options for this one--people could have written an interview with Shylock, or drawn a comic book version of the play, etc. The other two: one was a review of the Merchant of Venice film that we'd watched in class, and the other was supposedly related to these two insane little crack documentaries about Shakespeare in Today's World. We were supposed to write an essay about whether or not Shakespeare was still relevant today, and explain why people still studied his plays/remembered his writing all around the world.

Oh, I'm sure I will. Glad you liked it! Antonio had to have a happy ending. He was the only one besides Shylock who didn't in the play.
