Hospitalized!Dean Themed Week: Brainstorming Post!

This is the post for authors/artists for the themed week mini challenge to look for inspiration if they’d like, but anyone can comment here, whether you’re participating in the challenge or not. You can TOTALLY use your own ideas, btw; this is just optional for anyone who likes working with a more specific prompt

Ugh so first can I say BEST WEEK OF MY LIFE.

Second, here is a prompt thing:

Stanford era. Sam's at school. John and Dean have split up to do some solo hunts. Dean is tooootally on his own, hunting, just getting the hang of the case when BAM - whatever he's hunting hits him with a crazy supernatural illness. (Think "Yellow Fever" but with wayyy more physical badness - get creative hehe). He knows he's gotta kill whatever he's tracking in order to cure himself, but he's caught in a double bind: the worse he gets, the less he can hunt.

Eventually he has no choice but to (literally) drag himself to the E.R., just to get some fluids pumped in him so he can leave in a couple hours and keeping hunting. Cue helllla confused doctors who have no idea what they're dealing with and want to keep him for observation, and stubborn!Dean who's all "can we move this along," even though he's half-dead and clearly not going anywhere on his own soon.

...*whispers* Bonus points if Sammy saves the day somehow. ;))

Okay, focus. Yes, prompt.

Dean is brought in / comes in to get treated for whatever injury, could be a relatively mild one, and while he is getting help a staff member (the treating nurse/dr?) notices that something's off. Dean is slowly but surely losing consciousness; this has absolutely nothing to do with his injury. Before long the docs are faced with a seemingly healthy (you know, apart from non-life-threatening injury) young man who is completely unresponsive for no apparent reason, and a brother who is freaking out.

Or could be anyone else, doesn't have to be Sam. Or maybe he's alone.

Seasons 1-7 (including), preferably gen.

Gen, s. 1-7, Outsider POV. The patient in room 203 is a charmer. He flirts with the nurses, makes smalltalk with random visitors, and can go ten rounds of banter with his own (a younger brother and uncle, it seems) without missing a beat.
It takes working the night shift, when the ward is quiet and dark, to get acquainted with the horror of what's beneath all that.

[note: please no chronic pain on this one. Trying to get my mind off my own]

I'm dealing with nasty food allergies lately, so naturally, Imma pass that on to Dean. /sheepish

So: Dean hospitalized with either an previously unknown allergy, a supernatural poison with similar effects, a simple natural-causes food poisoning, or maybe his body not being used to earthbound food anymore after purgatory or hell? Knock yourself out! ALSO. I MAY TAKE THIS ON MYSELF. FOR CATHARSIS. BUT FEEL FREE TO SNATCH IT UP TOO. ;D
