Well, I finally talked myself into buying the Nikon D70s with the 18-70mm lens. I've been debating about it or the D50 but after actually holding the D50 I decided it was way too lightweight for my usage. I got very little sleep last night due to the storms that are in our area. After last weekends tornados, nobody likes to read this: "MANY OF THESE STORMS MAY BECOME SEVERE...WITH DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS BEING THE PRIMARY THREAT. Finding it difficult to get around the area this week. Still many roads are closed and entire areas of town and the county are closed. I did get out to find some areas a little south of where we live to take a few photos. It's really a minor bother considering what many others are having to deal with after the tornado. For anyone who may have wondered... The tornado, that you may have seen on the news, passes about 1/2 mile south of our house. We are all ok Luckily it did not last very long. Amazing how fast lives were snuffed out. There's over 20 dead so far locally, hundreds injured. Weord scenes all around with national guard choppers flying over ( Read more... )

Yep, it is possible that I'll get to actually leave work today at a normal time. I've seen the sun set and rise all this week from my office window. The only thing I've done at home is try to fit a few hours of sleep in there. Not sure what I'll do tonight or over the weekend. I do know that I will not be at work. I'm going to be a grandpa. At least that's what they are telling me. C'mon, I'm way too young to be a grandpa. Right? Maybe around 6 months till this big day. Don't have an actual date yet.
