Does anyone else feel frustrated that Japan gets Lightning Returns this month while America has to wait until February? I really want to know if there is any development between Hope and Light in the game and if I really wanted to I could find out from Japanese fans who play the game. Actually you should be glad that its only one month and not 6 months to 1 year later. That's easily the fastest release I've seen for a while in terms of translation from Jap to Eng (or any other language).

I've never actually been that into a Japanese game series to notice. This is the first I've been committed too. I just want it to end.

I see. Well actually, many games came originally from Japan like the Tales of series, many of the mario series, pokemon, dragon quest, animal crossing, .hack, Star Ocean, Devil May Cry, Kingdom Hearts, etc, before it was finally translated. The more popular ones are translated faster like FF with some released just a few days apart (but Japan's mostly comes out first). However, a month is better than a year of waiting or 6 months. That's a lot of time to get spoiled by accident.

And beware, those made in Japan always get the specials that never make here over in other countries (ex: costumes, special weapons)

it looks like the Japanese team worked hand in hand with the American/European teams to have the VA work done at the same time. Considering a LOT of the trailers I've seen have been in English with subtitles for whatever country they were in.

Played the game, beat it, and cried buckets at the Hopurai dialogues esp towards the end.
It will be so worth the wait :)

Also beat the game. There are lots of cute HopexLightningmoments in Yusaan. Although I must say that there is ansolutley no reason to turn Hope back to his 14 year old self other than the fact that SquareEnix wanted to.
