I've been having a lot of chest pains lately.

I did make a doctor's appointment, but it's still three weeks away. Then again, I made it in November (after my first attempt to seek medical attention failed), so three weeks away is halfway there already.

"Chest pain" is one of those magic phrases that typically lets you bypass the wait in an ER. And there is typically little or no wait anyway at LICH, FWIW.

If it hurts enough that you're worried about it, go to the ER. I'll chip in towards the copay.

We lost a 44-year old (female) friend to an apparent heart attack earlier this week. It's not something to fuck around with. While she had more risk factors than you do (being both a current heavy smoker and an occasional user of things that are not good for your heart), it's on my mind and S's as well.
