Why I think removal of the Confederate Flag symbolizes hatred more than leaving it does.
The confederate flag has long been a source of contention and debate, perhaps none more so than the one the was prominantly displayed in front of the South Carolina statehouse. Now that it is taken down from the statehouse grounds I am sure some people feel a great victory has been won and are giving themselves a big pat on the back. I don’t see it ( Read more... ) -

We have officially survived our first hurricane - ever. Our house hasn't come through as well as we did but a leaky roof, a ceiling collapse in one room and some missing shingles and debris in the front yard isn't anything worse than we had growing up. I don't know if we had it all at the same time but I remember each of those instances seperately ( Read more... ) -

Year in review
It has been quite a while since I wrote a post up, I figured I could squeeze one more out by the end of the year. It has been a busy, productive, and exciting year. Amazing what happened this year. Let's see how much of it I remember. I don't do christmas letters so this will have to serve that purpose.

enjoying my truck, not Texas
My truck and I have been getting along fabulously. I have already had occasion to use it a couple of times for hauling our grill around. First to a church grill and then for a work grill. The truck is in great shape and while most people aren't quite as exited about it as I am they are all enjoying the benefits.

This week was a good week. At least I think it was, saturday was a highlight so bright it kind of eclipses most of the rest of the week. I got a new truck! Not brand new, but new to me. It is a 2004 F-150 extended cab.

Still busy, still unproductive. I don't know how people get stuff done. I can't seem to do much of anything. But first a recap of what has been happening.

A busy 2 weeks
I have just spent the last two weeks in Souix falls South Dakota. Well, actually Freeman SD was where most of the time was spent. A client had some vibration problems and we had to mobilize fast to meet there demands. It wasn't very intense fast paced work but there was certainly enough of it.
