Something--okay. Five minutes.

[And Penny does have something short to wear and she does know better than to tell Angela that she'd rather stay home and mope about boys.

She's out of the apartment in five.]

Oh, great! Do you have Thanksgiving where you're from?

Well, I'm English, so no.

[Oh, well... yeah. She totally knew that. Except not really.]

Don't you guys do anything for fall over there? I mean, it's completely fine if you don't--no judging, and Americans celebrate everything.

That's a really helpful guide to the holiday.

Do you really think so, or are you joking? Because most really good guides to Thanksgiving probably talk about pilgrims and religious persecution and Native Americans and things like that.

No, I'm serious. We don't have it back home, so I've been stuck trying to get a feel for it based on what other people around here say about it.

Oh! It's... I guess it's not something that any one person can explain. I think every family celebrates Thanksgiving differently from all of the others. Anyway, I always used to spend mine at the soup kitchen, so I can't say I'm an expert on traditional American Thanksgivings. I just know how they celebrate on TV.

NOPE!

I thought the dead don't eat, but I've been wrong~

Oh, I'm--you know, I'm sorry to hear that you're dead. But the eating thing is doable. I'm dead too and I don't have to eat, but it doesn't hurt anything.

We haven't met before, have we?

[Doll's about to ask what she can do for the party...but then she catches some of the rest of that and anyway, she knows Penny well enough by now to tell if something is wrong.]

Penny?

[There's no use pretending with Doll. Not only is she perceptive, but keeping up the act at home would be hard. Still...]

Hey. What's up?

It's okay. Everyone has to leave eventually, right?

Nah. Thank you though, Freckles. Really.
