Picking up the punk kid

Mar 10, 2009 18:04

((Continued at the next morning from here.))Breakfast, while not a wholly unpleasant affair, was uncomfortable enough with the amount of interrogation that went with his bacon. If only he'd woken up knowing the price he'd have to pay for his eggs and grease, he'd have picked up a fruit or two at the market square instead ( Read more... )

Seifer would have laughed if he'd known that the great Squall Leonhart had been forced to stoop to something as mundane as picking up kids. Thankfully, he didn't, due to being asleep as Squall made the trek over.

Or at least, he was until Squall came knocking on his door. That had him sitting up with a jolt, reaching almost instinctively for a blade that wasn't there, before remembering where he was (and who's body he was in).

Consequently, he was looking more than a little grumpy when he came to get the door for Squall. But that could, perhaps, be forgiven.

Grumpy indeed. Leon smirks at the frumpled appearance of the being that obviously just rotated straight out of bed. Unslicked hair was sticking every which way and it was obvious that someone hadn't quite managed to catch all their beauty sleep.

"Breakfast," Leon announced, holding up the basket instead of commenting on the juvenile look of sleepiness on Seifer's face.

Hey, he hadn't ever said he'd be happy with being up early and it seemed (albeit unfortunately) that this body was far less used to going short on sleep than his own. But he'd force it to deal if he had to.

"About time."

"You were waiting?" Leon asked, eyebrows raised in skepticism. From the way Seifer looked, he doubted the teen would have noticed if the morning passed him by.

Handing the basket over, Leon stepped into the room, bypassing the bed and heading straight for the table set up on the far side. Sitting in one of the chairs placed there, he waited for Seifer to rummage through the goodies before talking.

"Aerith wants to see you."

He'd have noticed. But he hadn't exactly been waiting, unless you wanted to be lenient and call sleeping waiting. But in either case the contents of the basket held Seifer's interest far more. Food was far more interesting than actually talking at the moment.

"Well, I know that can't be your girlfriend," he answered after making some decent in-roads on breakfast.
