Doesn't work for everything.

No, of course not. It isn't a perfect system, by any means, and torches leave flickers. But it is better than stumbling in complete shadow, yes?

This is true. What are you thinking of?

Well, I think there are a few basic human principles that most people will agree on. Murder, rape, stealing, most people could say that they think those are not good. Then we would need a system, of course, to keep them from not happening. What could we do? In At-lantis, sometimes you have your hands tied behind your back for days, when you pick a pocket?

the problem be getting everybody to agree on something. there be people here that ain't got everyone's best interests in mind. and there be even more that just don't care at all.

Most people must care. They are human, yes? We are all the same, and we all have cares.

I like laws.

When I'm the one enforcing them.

"Use of excessive force" is the best damn thing EVER when there's no stick-in-the-mud to pull you up on it. Heheheh.

You could be helpful, then? Enforcers, they are necessary.

[Um, LOL]

Yes, yes they fucking are.

There's no-one here with the authority to command me. But I'd be willing to cut a deal.

Enforcers need FORCE, or at the very least numbers, to make others mind them. Therefore, I need either my gun or a squad who'll follow my damn orders. Preferably both.

And I won't be brought up short by Redd, either, for using force against others in the name of keeping the peace. You get exemption for me - and my unit, if necessary - from his little rules, and I'll be your head of security.

[Yeah, there's no way in hell. This guy's just spinning his wheels. But it's amusing.]

[Kah-nath laughs along with him. :D]

Perhaps there is way to enforce without enough violence to bother the Captain, perhaps? A shove, that does not get his attention. I haven't tried the hands thing yet. Maybe we should! Will you tie my hands together?
