congrats... just be as close to 100% sure this is what you want because you will be in a lot of debt and have offered almost 4 full years of your 20s to it. feel VERY certain. plus, it goes by too fast. i can't believe i am almost done. first year does seem a lifetime ago, though. but strangely so, as though this could have been a dream and i could wake up on the plane headed to indiana for my interview right now. i am just out of it. i really might have myself some amoebal infection. yuck. anyhow, good luck. interviews are in feb, right?

Yes, Feb 17th for me. I'm not sure if it's to my benefit or not to be going at the beggining of interview week... My major stress about it right now is finding something appropriate to wear. And I'll be devoting at least the remainder of my 20s and 2 years of my 30s to it if I do the dual degree like I plan. Then a post-doc... I'll be nearing 35 before I'm well and truely done. I'm planning on defending for my M.S. this August before classes start though and then transfering labs for my Ph.D. work the summer after first year. And borderline anemia/rainforest humidity/possible protozoan infection would make most people feel out of it I'd imagine, no weakness in that. Thanks for the well wishes, hope the rest of the trip continues to be invigorating.
