I really should be asleep. I'm still an intern, albeit with only 1 more call left this Friday, and 1 more week of work. I laugh inappropriately on rounds all the time. But, two days ago, I was finally rewarded.
On the cardiology service:
Attending to patient: So, Mr. M, I understand you get this chest pain from time to time- does it happen when you're exercising at all?

We all face death in different ways. I am afraid of death, and so I deal with it by not embrace it, by speaking in the passive, by reducing it to failing organs, decreased cardiac output, fatiguing of the lungs.

Fall: Thoughts
Dodgers are 5 away from going to the playoffs, hooray! Am so excited, and am planning on sporting Dodger shirts to hospital once I start call again (an all too soon this upcoming Wednesday). Priorities
The problem with a two-career type of marriage is trying to figure out who gets to do what, when- and in medicine, it's quite difficult, especially with non-forgiving specialities like general surgery. How do you end up deciding what's fair?
