Knee update

Jul 21, 2009 21:49

Saw the doctor today. Good news: it's fractured, but not broken through. If I can go easy on it for the next six weeks, I won't need surgery. With my knee in a brace, I can walk (well, limp) on it without the crutches ( Read more... )

That's good to hear. Just don't drop anything or it'll have to stay there for a while... Would you have been able to drive anyway, if you had needed surgery?
You should get a cane and put on a surly demeanor a la Dr. House. I doubt you'd get away with a Vicodin hang-up though... ha.
Hope you heal Fast!

I suggested a cane to him. He sort of snarled at me.

Guess he's working on that "Dr. House" thing already.

I hope it heals quickly. This just hasn't been your month, has it?

Are you sure you didn't open a customer service call with Heaven? Activating your legendary track record with customer service for all of reality would seem to be the only explanation for this. :-)

There's always the option of carpool if you're on ANYONE's way to work, since hobbling to a bus stop on a joint that doesn't work right sucks the same flying goat-monkeys that using crutches for 6 weeks does (personal experience there)

Luckily, the bus stop is really close. My housemate and I work in near-ish buildings, but I don't think I can get in his car without bending my knee (which is right out).

We'll see.

Well.. fracture is better than full breakage.. I'm trying to be optimistic, but I'm sure you don't want to hear it.

I'm also a woman who sprained her ankle the morning after she got married, so yeah. Missteps suck.

Take it easy and may the joint fairy wish you well.

No, that's a lot better. No surgery? Yes! Optimism is good :)
