Triathlon Nerves

So I'm doing my first Triathlon this weekend which is terrifying in many many ways. I'm trying to get a goal in mind for each part of the tri and getting my thoughts straight is easier on "paper". My concern has little to do with being able to complete the distances but being able to do so before each leg closes. So here goes ( Read more... )

I am confident that you'll be able to make the swim. The key to that is to relax and lengthen your stroke. That's what worked for me. I swam breast stroke when I needed to sight & that gave me some time to control my breathing and re-orient.

Have fun on the bike and the run -- the less pressure you put on yourself, the better you'll do.

Thank you -- I really appreciate all the encouragement and the benefit of your experience last weekend.

I will definitely call you on Sunday -- remember I have at least a several hour drive after I finish so I'll need plenty of "company."
