Professor Brendan, I know this isn't the assignment, but I'll turn it in anyway:

"...The door is wide open this morning and you can do nothing but make the sign of the cross and walk past. You sneak a glance over your shoulder as you enter the department and see she's not at her desk. Your colleagues are all in place, except for Phoebe Hubbard, who is in Woods Hole researching a three-part piece on lobster ranching."

"Since automatics are less common in Europe, they are expensive to buy and therefore expensive to rent."
-From a guidebook to Ireland.

Your quote is from Stuart little! I think...So how are you doing by the way?

Sorry for the delayed response; it took a while to get the internet and my book in the same place. In my copy, this quote is on page 27, but I found it! So here's what comes next:

“Il faut avouer, monsieur Ralph, reprit-il, que vous avez trouvé là une manière plaisante de dire que la terre a diminué! Ainsi parce qu’on en fait maintenant le tour en trois mois…
- En quatre-vingt jours seulement, dit Phileas Fogg.

(It’s from Le Tour du Monde en 80 Jours, also known as Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne.)

I hope everything’s going well for you!
