Loved it. I usually hate the movies, so I was pleasantly surprised. I drove home satisfied.
I did dislike two key scenes though:
King's Cross. BUTCHERED. I'm okay with that though. Why? Because it allows me to read the book scene in peace without the movie version bleeding in and ruining it as I will pretend the movie scene never happened.
Also, Harry snapping the Elder wand in two, and never repairing his Holly wand. WTF?! EPIC FUCKING FAIL!
Ok, that's it. :D
I loved that this was not the Hermione show for a change, Helena Ravenclaw was well done, McGonagall was badass, Snape's memories were decent, and I was just overall satisfied. YES.
Was it just me though, or when R/Hr destroyed the cup in the Chamber, the whole looked like a ginat orgasm with the rushing water? js.
Things went way too fast in the movie. The pacing was just non stop action and operatic music. It never took the time to slow down with any scenes like the other movies did. I remember feeling the same way about Revenge of the Sith when I first saw it.
Infact, since it's part 2 of the deathly hallows it actually didn't feel like another HP movie, but more a continuation from the last part. But I guess that's the way it was intended.
This movie felt soooo short to me! I thought it was like an hour, but apparently it was 2 hours?! HOW?! I definitely wish it had had time to slow down and let some of the big moments really sink in and hit you really hard (then again, if LotR can have 3 hour movies, why can't HP?)...
Cho got moved to Harry's year in OOTP, and tbh I think they just wanted to get as many familiar faces in those scenes. Not gonna judge it, I SAW CORMAC OMG WOOOOOOOOO!
Also, huge wtf moment when Blaise went to the RoR with Draco. I mean, I'd seen that one photo of the three Slytherins prior to entering the RoR, but it still didn't sit all that well with me. *shrug*
I loved it. It was so much fun. Very different from canon, but I honestly didn't care. I find I have a much easier time separating the DH movies from the books, and enjoying them for what they are.
My one objection is the utter lack of Dumbledore backstory. That was my favorite part of the book, but I guess an upside to them not including it is that they can't ruin it. Hm.
i think it's because the books are so complicated (and they left so much pertinent info out earlier), we all knew deep down that it couldn't be exactly like the books.

Overall, not bad. Still like the book better.

And Percy just being with the Weasley's without reconciliation.

As far as Percy goes, they never really took up that plotline, so I guess it's okay that we didn't get a big reconciliation scene.
