Oh, lovely, lovely, lovely! What a sweetheart your Neville is. (I honestly think that anyone who doesn't like Neville is a Bad Person.) The title has a lovely double meaning, too - really good. My favourite bit was the Neville-Ginny conversation, with all the bits that you skilfully didn't say.

One typo?:

You've made me proud of you, and you father would have been, too

Your father? Though it's blindingly obvious what you mean. That's the kind of typo I always miss as well - it's the little ones that get through, isn't it?

Brilliant. I think you need another holiday, if you're going to come back and do this.

Thank you, both for the lovely comment and for pointing out the typo! You're right, it's those ones that your brain just knows are right that slip through. Bah!

One of my favourite bits of fanon is that Neville has an unrequited crush on Ginny, so I'm glad you liked that section - it was my favourite to write, too.

I think you need another holiday, if you're going to come back and do this.

Partly it's the relief of having finished all my fic exchanges. Getting to write something just because I wanted to was like taking the brakes off - a gorgeous feeling!

I'm a huge Neville/Ginny fan. And one of Ginny's real strengths is the way she sticks up for the little people like Neville. That 'You're not nobody' scene in OotP?

I was hoping for H/L, R/Hr, N/G, but knowing all the time that it would be H/G and not N/L. Oh, well!

Btw I teach a boy who is the spittng image of GoF Neville. And he's a sweetie.

That 'You're not nobody' scene

I thought it was HBP - at least, the one I'm thinking of is - but yeah, it's one of my favourite Ginny moments. I don't see how anyone can call her a bully when she does things like that.

I teach a boy who is the spittng image of GoF Neville

Aw! Is he aware of it? I guess so, with the blanket media coverage the film got.

*sigh*

As per my RP board, I've recently become much more of a fan/champion of Neville's and you can only imagine how excited I was to see you had written a piece about Neville!

I love the vulnerability you display in his every move, he might not be aware of it...but there is bravery in showing that you care.

*sigh*

Just a completely wonderful job!!!

And by the by while I've got your attention, thank you so much for the review at the Quill on my Dumbledore one shot!!

You RP Neville? Cool! There's Neville-fic aplenty if you poke around in my LJ memories - although I should warn you that it's all pretty depressing.

And thanks, I'm really glad you liked this! Neville's one of my favourite characters, and I really hope JKR has his contemporaries recognise his worth before book seven is over (and not by killing him off!).

Re the review - you're welcome :). It was a lovely letter.

Thank you! I love writing dialogue; it's writing the scene-setting around it that comes harder to me.

And I am all about passing on the Neville love :).

Lovely - Neville's such a good lad, and it's always nice to see it recognised.

Loved Ginny's version of the newspaper report, too.

Thank you! I'm on a bit of a mission to make everyone in the wizarding world recognise Neville's worth.

This is really good. Your Neville characterization was terrific, and you do a great job of weaving the influence of the war throughout the entire piece.

They will be proud of me, he thought stubbornly, although all he said was, "Thanks. Take care, Gran."

Oh, Neville. What a great line.

Thank you! It was really interesting to look at Neville and the other kids without Harry, Ron and Hermione running the show.

Neville's just a fab character to write :).
