Title: Last Look Back Before You Jump Author: alley_skywalker Written for: jokerofish Rating: PG Length: 1,451 Character(s): Barty Crouch, Antonin Dolohov, others in mention Warnings: none
This was well done! I enjoyed the worldbuilding details, the setting felt original and creative with even just a little description. And Dolohov's concerns about how Barty views Voldemort versus his father seemed believable. Barty's "good" was a stark and effective characterization. Very good scene overall.
Very original and insightful fic! I loved Antonin's concern for Barty, and your characterizations of both of them. Also, very original setting. Excellent work! :)
I loved the atmosphere of this. The setting was eerie, but the tone felt almost sad with Barty hoping so desperately to belong. Antonin's protectiveness of him was a really nice touch, and the whole thing was a beautifully written insight into the Death Eaters and how they connected with one another.

I also felt that you dealt with the two characters deftly and I loved the insights you gave into Barty's character.
He was trying to replace family bonds with ones of servitude and Antonin could tell him there and now that it would never be the same.
But it wasn’t his choice, it was Barty’s.
I thought that there was a fascinating sense of almost regret here.
