Thanks, and I should thank icarusinwax for the inspiration. I think it was the idea of the masquerade that got me thinking. Challenges are good for you, they make you squirm, but they make you think, too.

Oh, nicely done, and yes, very creepy. I liked the way the drabble turned the usual order of things upside down, but it's impossible to be disappointed by the fic putting them back. Good stuff.

I always try to find the less obvious way out of a story. I think sometimes you can get into a writing rut, so challenges are a good way to force you to "think outside the square" (cor, see how easily we slide into cliche....)
