It had been some time since Rodolphus had been home. Not that they had a home of their own anymore...sodding Ministry.
Bella had grown bored in their travels of Europe and had headed home after Germany but Rodolphus had stayed, enjoying the beer and somewhat decent food but like his wife he too had grown bored.
Smirking he leaned crossed his arms and leaned against the doorway watching his wife. He had owled Narcissa a few days ago to find out where Bella was staying and was surprised to find that she had taken over a wing of the Malfoy mansion. HE bet Lucius was just having kittens over that one. He and Bella had never gotten along very well and it was probably worse now more than ever.
He watched as she drummed her fingers against the desk top and stared off into space something she only did when she was bored.
Bellatrix started at his voice, then turned to double check--as if she couldn't recognize her own husband's voice.
Gorgeous. Every time she saw him, she felt the familiar jerk in her heart--their son would have been so very beautiful, if only, if only, if only. This fruitless dreaming was just that, but especially after a separation, she was struck by how perfect a blending of their dark beauties would have been.
She rose and stalked towards him, hips exaggeratedly swaying. Wrapping an arm around his waist, she molded herself against him, leaned to whisper in his ear.
Rodolphus arched an eyebrow and stood up straighter as he watched his wife stalk towards him. She always was such a sight to behold, no matter what she was doing she demanded that she be watched by all and Rodolphus was her biggest fan.
He smirked at her as she wrapped herself around him and whispered in his ear.
"Have I been bad Bella? Do I need to be punished?" He asked as he wrapped an arm around her.
"What have I done now to displease you? Tell me it was something good and yet oh so bad."
"You--" she reached up and tangled her hand through his hair, pulling a bit harder than strictly enjoyable--but if anyone could match her unabiding interest in pain, it was Rodolphus "--were more interested in dead Muggles that you didn't even kill yourself than in me."
They had spent hours touring those filthy German camps, and Bellatrix had honestly tried to share some of her husband's interest in them--death, horror, and destruction being three of her favorite things--but in the end she tired of wall after gray wall. And Rodolphus had the gall not to return with her. He would certainly be paying for that.

"Has my dark poppet run out of things to do?"
