It's a great idea that someone as obsessed with keeping their family toujours pur as much as Orion and Walburga seemingly were, would have such a dark and embarrassing secret. I'm inclined to agree it was a great pity Annis didn't at least injure Bellatrix (would she have pleaded her future actions were all as a result of this traumatic childhood event?;)), and Andromeda's gesture of acceptance goes a long way towards upholding her side of the family honour, as well as being in keeping with what must have started, presumably to happen, after the events of DH.
I do love her advertising as a babysitter, lol. And being raised as a strict vegetarian - these diets do work. ;)
Alas I cannot claim the babysitter bit is original -- that's really from the Lexicon, and apparently appeared in one of those Daily Prophet issues Scholastic Books published as some sort of promo once. But I'm glad you like my spin on that and think it's somewhat believable, even though it's totally crackified, lol!
Maybe there's an AU to be written in which Annis really did eat Bella, altering the course of history forever...

Sirius with a big sister, what an intriguing idea. I like.
It may have been better for us all if she'd succeeded in eating Bellatrix though.
