I just got a call from my mom telling me that my cockatiel Sammy, that we've had for six years, died today. I didn't get to say goodbye.

My mom thinks he had a stroke. He got really weak and wouldn't move well. Josh says he just drifted off. I wish I could have said goodbye.

Thats how I felt about Sparkie and why I drove into St. Louis and back here when we put Mickey to sleep. Saying goodbye makes it a lot easier I think.

Being back home makes me miss him even more. I woke up and started to go out to the family room to wake him up so we could hang out and listen to music.

We're thinking of adopting a baby cockatiel with different coloring over the summer.

Thanks. It really hurts coming home from school to find him gone, but he didn't hurt and he was with my family the whole time he was slipping away.
