Sorry, that sounded mean. But seriously. Keep it for yourself. Everyone needs secret treasures to nestle in their heart of hearts. This is yours. We won't tell anyone.

No, I definitely agree with you. Well, I don't know if I'd say one of the greatest films ever -- but I have always thought of Three Amigos as a very amusing and un-forced comedy with a handful of inspired & memorable moments (i think you hit most of them), which is a lot more than most comedies. I thought so when it came out, and watched it again a couple years ago (with my 10 or 11-year old daughter) and still thought so. My wife and I still, from time to time, say "Would you say there are a PLETHORA of... (Whatever)?" Screw the critics! It featured three talented comedians at the height of their talents, basically goofing around, which is what they were best at. Also, I think the premise was solid: the tried-and-true Seven Samurai/Magnicent Seven set-up, with the added twist of movie heroes being mistaken for the real thing, which I think is inherently funny. Was it done before? Probably. But it was a solid enough idea to be used again in Galaxy Quest, which was even better (& not critically maligned ( ... )

When that movie came out, i desperately wanted to see it but my mother refused to take me to it, or rent it once it was on VHS. So still to this day, I have not seen it! But instead, my mother rented and rerented Harry and the Henderesons a number of times. bitch ( ... )

Weird theme today - I just saw a bag in my boss' office that had 4 dogs on it w/ the words 'Four Amigos' above.

I have to say, I've never been in touch w/ the genius that is Martin Short. I enjoyed this movie, but only in spite of his presence. Because he, well, bugs the shit out of me.

Except when he's in that fat suit being Jiminy Glick. That is hilarious. I actually thought it may have converted me on Short, but I haven't tested that yet. Time for a re-viewing of 'Three Amigos'?

Like the above poster, I have never seen "3 Amigos". It was a move I wanted to see because all of my friends saw it and loved and and talked about ti all the time. And even to this day, people talk about it. And one night when I was in high school, my good friend's little brother-who was apparently addictd to that movie and "The Sandlot"-put it on the VCR, but I was distracted by whatever my friend and I were doing (probably rolling up never-to-be-used characters for GURPS or something) and I couldn't focus on the movie. So, I've never seen it and probably some day I should watch it because I bet I'd find it funny.

The other movie I never saw as a kid that I felt like I should have was "The Goonies". But then when I saw it in high school, I thought it was lame and didn;t understand why kids would like it aside from the fact that there were kids in it. I mean, Baby Ruth? "Hey, you guys!"? C'mon.
