I'm glad you've already been able to use this as impetus to finish that (very effective) drabble.

Your second paragraph is very similar to where I am. I have a plot Nazgul that's been wandering around for months that needs out of my head; after that, I might pick up some unfinished things.

Is it really silly of me to admit that I awakened this morning and thought "After I'm finished packing, I can indulge in a few plot bunnies for Gloom and Doom"? Yeah - I thought so! :D

Yay! Now to refamilarize myself with the canon (because it's not an area I normally work with)…

It's one of those ideas where I don't feel comfortable talking about it before it's written. Sorry! :)

*nodnod* That's sometimes the most comfortable way to go about things. Good luck!

Does it need to be beta'd or can it be a rough draft?

Whatever one likes; however you usually feel comfortable sharing your work. =) I prefer to edit my own work without a beta before posting (I'm not sure if by "rough draft" you mean unbeta'd, or unedited by the author?).

My rough drafts are usually self-edited and thus unbeta'd; I like to think they aren't too bad (hello, spellcheck!) but there are often odd glitches that I don't see until they are pointed out.

If you've taken the time to edit it, I'd hardly think it's a "rough" draft; don't sell your own abilities short. =)

I've just begun working on my Palantir story again (the one I posted a snippet from).
