Insurance whinge.

Well here I am, back in Harden. I haven't been doing very much. Mostly just making use of a garden, which is still an enviable luxury for now. Then again, I'm already a bit bored. I didn't even bring my laptop so I'm using my old one, and I've forgotten just how slowwww it is. Which isn't helping my patience ( Read more... )

oh the insurance woe...

i cant quite believe just how badly the insurance has gone up, i mean i knew they were going up about a third because of all the claims people have put in but its ridiculous. The whole reason i was looking at focus' is because i dont need a big car like the vectra so my lil 1.8 is group 6 insurance and i safe a whole 20 quid on insurance...woooo :P at least its more fuel efficient though.

have you considered the focus i suggested it is on autotrader, because its a 1.6 its group 5 insurance, i mean its not a perfect car but its low millage considering the alternatives...

Haha £20? Massive savings indeed.

A Focus would be alright but a 1.6 petrol would be too much on insurance - remember I haven't any no claims. If it's a car of that size it needs to be a diesel so it's cheaper tax and insurance, and I think the best of those is the Golf 1.9 TDi. A Focus diesel would probably be even cheaper, but less reliable at high mileage.

shame...it was a decent car...sucks to be having own insurance...i got quoted £1700 for my new one :S i think i'll stay on my dads policy for a nice little £900 :P (ignores the fact that i cant change policy while i have unresolved claims)

i agree the golf is a good car if you can get a decent one, but ... i'm not a fan of golfs :s
and i didn't bother with diesels because i'd barely save with the current fuel prices, anything i save on insurance would go on fuel...mind you i'd be doing more mileage that you...you go for diesel, then come take me roadtripping :)
