2) Rereading my comment, you're right. I guess a better description of Tobirama is that he's trying to do (what he thinks is) the right thing. I think he's a "straight arrow" in that he goes by the rules. Rather than ideals, maybe I should say he clearly does want to do what is best for his group (whether that is a clan, brothers, or villiage), but he doesn't have vision. He also can't see how things are connected at all. As you said, he's pragmatic but not a visionary, which Hashirama is.
3) Oh, I'm not saying there are not any elder Ninjas, just that we don't see them. Also, I think if so many children die (both then and now), not many are surviving to adulthood and then there are the adult who are dying too in war. There is just going to be a disproportioned population with a heavily young population.
