Loved hearing about your trip--- am so envious of the Aztec temples. I have always wanted to see them-- I love bloody ruins-- thus my trip to Rome.

Your pictures of the ruins are great. Maybe I'll check out a book on the Astec ruins etc. since I'm reading my way through prehistoric times this summer. The Little Ice Age book I'm reading is interesting. That's when the Norse sailed to Greenland, Iceland etc. and how climates changed so they could do so and what happened when the little ice age came which was 900 AD to 1300 AD. Wonder if the climate changed for the Aztecs?

iice age correction kathneel June 11 2005, 20:14:11 UTC
Oooops. The years 900 AD to around 1200 AD were a warm time for Europe. Farms expanded up the mountains in Norway and in Scotland. There was a population explosion in Norway and that's why the young men went a-viking. The Little Ice Age brougt the people down out of the mtsns and farms have never gone that high since then. That age was 1250 to 1890's. Very choatic weather for Euope, Greenland, Iceland and elsewhere. Just wanted to post a correction, April. Some of those Cathedrals you like were designed (and built in Europe) during the warm period. Is this more than you wanated to know? Love, Mom
