Given the news out of Connecticut this morning, it does not seem like a very Christmasy day.   The Christian advent season incorporates the concepts of hope, peace, joy and love.  While this is not a day for joy, it is a day to  hope for a better tomorrow, to work for peace, including the peace that would end gun violence, and it is a day to love

For some reason I associate Sarah McLachlan with winter and the holidays.

I mostly associate Sara with despair. I think it's been too many funerals where they played "Angel"

My favorite Christmas song is 'In the Bleak Midwinter' maybe that's why I like Sara McLachlan, same un-cheery style...

"In the bleak Midwinter" is one of my favourites as well. I requested it for my father's funeral! (He died Dec. 21 so it was seasonal). McLachlan actually does a version of it on her Christmas album

It's one of my favourite Christmas songs, even though it's really depressing.
