For one glorious week a year, huskywife's parents go to Rhode Island for a week to vacation at a time share. During that week, we have the honor of hosting their little white Lhasa Apso named FuFu

Thanks for the invite. I'd shove a cork in that dog's butt and come right up.
Yes, he does much the same with my MIL. When MIL finds a puddle she coos, "oh now FuFu, don't you do that you bad dog," and then wipes it up. They just accept the rest.
Years ago, the two dogs (Farley lived there too) were crated at night. The dogs would bark around 8am and FIL would let them out. The dogs liked being free, so they then barked at 7:45am. FIL lets them out. Then the dogs were barking at 7:30am. You see where this is going. Eventually FIL was forced to get up at 6:00am, every day seven days a week, just to let the dog out of the cages and walk them lest they bark incessantly. The dog rules the place.
There's a whole other saga about letting FuFu outside. I don't know where to begin.
Would you like to borrow a crate? It is greyhound-sized, so very generous for a little-shit sized dog, and you can hide it before your in-laws come back...
A dog will generally not pee/poop in an area to which it is confined...

He sounds horrid. Does he treat your mother-in-law this way, too? Or is he just pissed off because she's not around?
In any case, you have my condolences. You are welcome to escape to our land of streptococcal fatigue and poison ivy any time this week.

I like the cork-in-butt solution.
