Stock phrases

A question here for film buffs, theatre enthusiasts or fans of the written word - or all three. Can anyone come up with any 'stock' lines of a certain genre that are so commonly quoted/referenced/parodied that no-one remembers where the original line came from? Whenever I say "ding dong!" nobody ever seems to know that it came from the carry on movies :D

Hey! Meant to reply to this ages ago and forgot, sorry...

Uh... that's kind of related, I guess? You can certainly add me to the list of 'people who didn't know that comes from Carry On movies'. ;)

I suppose what I mean is a line which is associated with a certain type of scene so strongly that it's pretty much cliche, but that they're so recognisable that it would be a common reference between members of the public who may not even have much interest in film.

Another example of it would be someone, on hearing shocking news, going "no... No! ..NOOOOOOOOOO!". While people could probably name films that have used it or something very similar (Luke's scream at the end of Star Wars V comes to mind), it's viewed as a more general plot device and not a specific reference to whichever film first used it.

Possibly it's an idea I'll just have to give up on!
