Some Thoughts On Writing
A writing-related question for anyone on my FL who has an interest in it, even if only from a reader's perspective: at what point does it become acceptable for a story to sacrifice or ignore internal logic in the name of style? Cairns!
Another 'hey, I'm not dead' post: I'm in Cairns, having caught a lift from Darwin with a German couple and their 4WD. On the way I saw many roadhouses, the splendour and natural beauty of Mt Isa (er, yeah), the considerably nicer Charters Towers, and now that I'm in Cairns I have no idea how I'm going to look for work or what reef-related ( Read more... ) -
The Last Two Months, In Brief
June 1st: started voluntary work at a crocodile farm in the Northern Territory, 230kms from Katherine, ostensibly for one week.
June 24th: left crocodile farm and started working at a nearby roadhouse, 200kms from Katherine, ostensibly for four weeks. In other words, after being in the country for four and a half months, I finally started earning ( Read more... ) -

I love this city.
It surprises me, because normally big cities aren't my thing (I think that was part of my problem in Melbourne), but I love this one! Magical Adventures in South Australia
That's right - after almost 10 weeks I finally moved on from West Australia and decided to go for the other 'our country name + a compass direction' state, mostly to meet up with the lovely naughtyevil and kin_you_bi briefly before moving on to Victoria via bus tour.
