Another 'hey, I'm not dead' post: I'm in Cairns, having caught a lift from Darwin with a German couple and their 4WD. On the way I saw many roadhouses, the splendour and natural beauty of Mt Isa (er, yeah), the considerably nicer Charters Towers, and now that I'm in Cairns I have no idea how I'm going to look for work or what reef-related

Go out on a boat and do a Try Dive at least, if not your full course. Well worth it & cheap as chips (comparatively!)
