Yeah, I'm having trouble maintaining the LJ habit! :-/ I think the main problem is that if I have the internet I'm usually using someone else's computer (public wifi isn't very common over here) so don't want to log in to LJ, and at other times I feel too tired or busy to write up what I've been doing! I need discipline. :)

You gotta go to Airlie Beach, and Bowen, and Childers and Harvey Bay, and Bundaberg and gympie. My sister and I drive from Bowen to Brisbane all the time and there are some pretty cool sights to be seen along the way.

Oh Mackay as well is pretty cool along the coastal area.

Yu gotta stop in Brisbane obviously, head out to my neck of the woods (Manly....Wynnum....Cleveland....Wellington Point) for awesome coastal townyness. Great fish and chips, fantastic burgers and just awesome people!!!

Gold coast is a no brainer, but also do Caloundra (sunshine coast)Kings Beach is great.

Uhm, Heading into northern NSW, must do Rainbow Bay, Pottsville is such a cute place and OMG best beaches, Byron Bay, Ballina/..

I couuld go on and on..I love where I live..i truly do!

Oooh, many thanks for the awesome and incredibly detailed advice! My plan of action is basically to find someone else going down the coast (since I do not own a car, nor do I have the funds or the license necessary to acquire one) so I may be restricted a bit by what they want to do... but I'm sure I can charm them. ;)

One question though - isn't Manly in NSW, just north of Sydney? I ask because I've been there!
