House is empty, with silence that is punctuated occasionally by a sound on the street.  It's friday night, Travers weekend in Saratoga.  New Yorkers are visiting the hotels and restaurants.  Now this city is an overflow destination.  If I didn't feel so pathetic- in the house, wearing glasses, sitting with one lamp on- I might go out.  From here, I

It doesn't matter how busy I am. It's true, I am moving, and the house is not unpacked yet, but if you don't mind sleeping on an incredibly comfortable vintage couch, come anytime! I am hoping to have a potluck sometime over the next few weekends (probably not this one), but you can visit whenever you like! I don't need much notice at all. I work all week, but as long as you don't mind me slipping off to do bits of housework, I'm always happy for your company. We could all use these little vacations....I work too much. You would be a relief.

They arrested a dude at burning man for setting the man on fire today. If that's not a perfectly good example of why nobody should go to burning man, I don't know what is.

Setting THE Burning Man on fire? Prematurely? Man, that sucks. Sucks even more if it was a real man. I think there's a lot of shenanigans going on at Burning Man that I'd prefer to stay out of. It was enough of a sign that half C.'s camp are sound and light artists. I can't hang with that shit.
